[Qgis-user] Use a Spatial Query to filter values in 'Value Relation' field

I'm trying to populate a subset of a Road Network with "Segment Start" and
"Segment End" cross streets and use the "Value Relation" field to filter and
reduce the road name options to just those streets that intersect it.

Ideally this would result in the user adding the relevant line segment >
Attribute Box pops up > Drop down list searches Road Names from the Master
Road layer and returns only those values of roads that actually intersect
the new record.

In the Edit Widget Properties, I have found the Value Relation option, which
gives me all the available road names from the Master Roads layer. There is
a filter option, but I have been unsuccessful in determining the syntax to
select all records that intersect my new record?

Any suggestions?

Alternatively, to filter the list to records within the current view extent.

Thanks,
