[Qgis-user] Copy and Paste Features not bringing in attributes

Hello,

   I have save as a layer to a new name and then deleted all the features it had then I select the features that I want from the original file and copy and paste them into the new file but even though they are the exact same structure and field names everything other than the geometry comes in as NULL. Any ideas why the data from the fields (other than geometry) are not pasting in?
