[Qgis-user] label (substring) formatting

Dear list,

I've searched the archive for a possibility to format different strings
within one label. Like the first word bold and the next underlined or
with a bigger size. What I've found is that 'HTML map labels are not
supported....yet' (Nathan Woodrow, 2013).

Has anything been developed since then, that i havent found?
Is there any way to format substrings within a label?
