[Qgis-user] How to get a raster base layer file?

Dear all,

I would like download a raster base layer representing streets (like open
streeet map for instance). 

I need to download a raster file (not display map web services)  because ,
in a second time i have to do editing (clip the raster thanks to clip vector
layer).

Could you throw light for me?
