Hi Benoit, and everyone else,

I rather have my plugins in our own repository: 1, because they serve well our purposes but, perhaps, not so well the QGIS community at large, and 2, they mostly do not follow the programming philosophy of QGIS (they are developed on the spur of the moment and are not good examples of code!).

As others have said, I'd encourage you to contribute it to the main repository: I think a lot of people find it useful (certainly a number of my colleagues do!) - and don't worry about how good or bad the code is! It works well - that's the important thing!

Of course, I'm happy to do whatever testing would help. I have some experience with PyQT and the QGIS API, but am not an expert at the GUI-design side of things
> Your point 3: why not, but a proper developer should be assigned to the plugin. As far as I understand it, core plugins are in their own active branch in the QGIS source tree and are maintained by their creator or dedicated developers. Unfortunately, I have strictly no experience with the GIT world!

I'm not sure whether I count as a 'proper developer' - but I'm more than happy to help with this, and also more than happy to help with any git questions you have.
Cheers,
Robin
