[Qgis-user] Terrain ruggedness Index

Hello,

I am interested in using the terrain ruggedness index (as part of the SAGA
install with  QGIS), but would like to know which algorithm it is using and
how one can interpret the output data. The equation I see more is the Riley
one, but it would be useful with all these processes to know what algorith
has been used (in a help section).

A quick search on Google shows there are several methods:

Also, is roughness a completely separate concept from ruggedness - a query
for the geomorphologists!
