[Qgis-user] Accessing WMTS Services with reverse axis orientation in QGIS

Hi,

I'm failing to display a WMTS datasource both in QGIS 2.14 (Windows x64) which has a "reverse axis order" SRS. (North Axis being the first value, East Axis the second). We have Gauß/Kruger (EPSG:31468) Tiles stored inside a GeoWebCache instance and would like to serve them via WMTS to QGIS and Esri ArcMap 10.2 at the same time.

In GeoWebCache, when defining the gridset I can decide to have the y-Axis be the first coordinate, which results in correct tile display inside ArcMap.

Unfortunately this is not the case with QGIS: When loading this WMTS datasource, no data shows up.

I tried all four possible combinations of the switches regarding Axis order inside the WMS Datasource settings, but none helped.
"Ignore Axis orientation"
"Invert Axis orientation"

When definig the gridset inside GeoWebCache with x-Axis to be the first coordinate, I get the Tiles correctly in QGIS when switching "ignore axis orientation" on - but then ArcMap will display them at the wrong region of the world.

Any hints how to persuade QGIS to display my tiles?

Is there some way to get a bit deeper into "debugging" ie. Seeing which tiles QGIS wants to fetch etc.?

Kind regards,
Sebastian
