[Qgis-user] extract / merge data from raster to vector

Hi QGISers,
I've got an ers raster file with elevations and a series of locations as a
vector / shapefile.

What I would like to do is query the ers raster at the point locations and
add the value at that point to the vector file.

How do I go about this?
