Are you applying a SVG Style?
I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 (xubuntu) with the same repo and it's not
Crashing - BUT - it did when applying an SVG style at 2.14.0 and 2.14.1
- but I think that issue is fixed now (or it has stopped for me).
