[Qgis-user] clip still not working on osm shape

Hi,
Yes the Qgis browser is just a file browser.  You need to work with Qgis.  The first thing you need to know is the CRS of the file.  Make sure that in your setting/options/CRS, you select "prompt for CRS".  Open the file and try to find the correct CRS.  It my help to open a background file to figure it out.  Also, turn off "on the fly CRS" for now.

If you have the wrong CRS, you can right click on the layer and set layer CRS.  That will not reproject it.  But it will change its position. Then click zoom to layer and see if it's the right place.
