[Qgis-user] layer combination

Hi Boaz,
I don't know if it's a not recommended plugin and didn't check its
availability/compatibility with recent QGIS releases, but did you give a
try to preset visibility (
http://docs.qgis.org/2.18/en/docs/user_manual/introduction/general_tools.html#layers-panel)?
As far as I can tell, most of Layer Combination features are there...
