[Qgis-user] exporting QGIS maps to gps for field work

Hello everybody, 

I’m fairly new to QGIS but I’m loving what I’ve encountered so far.

What I wish to do now is adding information layers to scanned geological maps and then export them to my Garmin gpsmaps 64s so I can work with the maps in the field.

What would be the way to do this? Is it possible to create jnx files with QGIS or is there another way?
I read about the GPSBabel plugin but it does not show in the plugin list. 
I have QGIS3 3.4.2 Madeira installed on OSX. Don’t know if that matters.

Hope someone can help me in the right direction.
