[Qgis-user] filter objects

Hi

I'd like to filter objects of a postGIS-layer. There are two options I see.

I)            Layer properties > General > Provider feature filter (Query builder)

II)           Layer properties > Style > rule-based (only styling those I am interested in)
Which would you recommend in respect of performance?
