[Qgis-user] EPSG:

The coordinates in my map seem to make no sense when I use EPSG:3857   ,
WGS84 pseudo mercator.
Here are the extents as displayed in the status bar:
-11905442.9,4361690.4 : -11899117.1,4365315.2

Here are the same extents in EPSG:4326 - -106.9,36.4 : -106.9,36.5.
These are what I'd expect

I thought EPSG:3857 used degrees - ie, +/-180°, +/- 85°
