[Qgis-user] Sunrise, Sunset, Lunar Calculations

I have been considering starting some of this myself and  I would surly 
be interested.  I was contemplating this in the context of a calendar 
(as opposed to QGIS but I see the value there, and would likely start 
using in in those of projects).

There are a number of resources on the Internet that purport to provide 
code in various languages (C, C++, VB and Python).  I haven't vetted any 
of them yet  None of them are particularly long. All of them are 
somewhat complex.  My target would be C++.

Besides sun rise, sun set, moon rise and moon set, I would also be 
interested in phase of the moon, at least full moon and new moon.
