Hi Koos,

Depending on how much customization you have made, you may want to try
creating a new user profile. From the main top menu:  
  Settings: User Profiles: New Profile

Then from the same menu when you switch to the new profile it will open a
new instance of QGIS with the default parameters. Hope that helps!
