[Qgis-user] String field limitation

Hello,
Can't find the answer on easy question. What is maximum length of
QVariant.String field type? I can write long strings ( > 10K) to the such
field at least with memory an geopackage layers. But it crushes QGIS in
attempt to view field content in attribute table.
