[Qgis-user] Label Blocking in Print Layout

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a way for items in a print layout, a
scale bar or north arrow for example, to inform the labeling engine. Lould
I prevent a label from being rendered underneath a north arrow for example?

I had thought that I had seen this referenced somewhere, but have been
looking around in QGIS and on the internet and haven't found a way to do
this yet.
