[Qgis-user] Is it possible to display strings as band labels in QGIS?

Hello,

I am QGIS newbie and have troubles getting our NetCDF format data to display band names, which are strings, in QGIS. So my question is it possible to have band labels, which are strings, to be displayed in QGIS?
When I view Symbology -> Band for the layer it is rendered as empty:

Band 1: sensors=
Band 2: sensors=
Band 3: sensors=

Though all three labels are provided in the source NetCDF as “sensors" dimension:


['S1A_S1B', 'S2A_S2B', 'L8_L9’]


Panoply has no problems displaying the band labels.

I am using QGIS Release 3.14 on OS X.
