[Qgis-user] Simplification tolerance when exporting layout to PDF

Hello,

Can someone explain how to configure the tolerance for geometry 
simplification when exporting a layout or atlas to PDF?

I find that it uses a tolerance that is orders of magnitude too large 
and complex shapes are rendered as rectangles. Without simplification it 
all looks good but the resulting PDFs are too large to be useful.
