[Qgis-user] What happened to "Update SQL Layer"?

To answer my own question, I had a little discussion with the developers 
here: https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/pull/45801#issuecomment-1065101963 
and learned that the previous behaviour involved a silent (and 
irreversible) conversion of an PostGIS layer to a query layer. Now you 
have to explicitly create a query layer either using the DB manager or 
the browser.
