Hi Steve,
could you please provide more info, like which installer did you use 
(the all-in-one stand-alone *.msi installer or the OSGeo4W Network 
Installer) and the text of any error message?

I would suggest you to report the issue on 
https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/ providing all the detailed info needed.
