did you check theese options?

  *   "Use estimated table metadata"
  *   "Only look for user tables"

I need to access an Oracle Database in QGIS. The scheme I need to connect to has plenty of tables and Views and it seems that all data is loaded in the background even before I was able to select the few tables I will really need. This lakes a lot of time.
