[Qgis-user] Recommended specification for Windows 11

There is no set requirement, as hardware requirements vary depending largely on the data volumes you are rendering/processing.

More is always better, Windows generally requires more than Mac & Linux. A graphics processor with its own memory will help improve performance, but is not required.

I'd suggest minimum is 8gb system memory, at least a 250Gb SSD, I5 cpu or equivalent. Shared graphics with 256 or 512Gb memory allocated.

Ideal is 32Gb memory, 4Gb Nvidia/ATi graphics, 1Gb SSD, I7 or equivalent AMD cpu (or better).

Cheers

Subject: [Qgis-user] Recommended specification for Windows 11

Hello,

I am looking for the recommended hardware requirements for QGIS. We are running Windows 11 and version 3.34 LTR of QGIS and experiencing some crashes when rendering. I am suspecting that the laptops we have do not have enough memory in them and am wondering whether a graphics card with a certain amount of memory is required.

Regards

David
