Sure, but that in almost all cases renders labels not as text strings (1 string for every label), but as text characters (1 character for every letter in a label)....

Hi,
While exporting, try with selecting the "Text export" option as "Always render labels as text"
<https://docs.qgis.org/3.40/en/docs/user_manual/print_composer/create_output.html#export-as-pdf> which points to
<https://docs.qgis.org/3.40/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/vector_properties.html#render-labels-text>.

That has been a long-standing complaint of mine (once filed a bug 3975<https://issues.qgis.org/issues/3975> of which this was part). It’s now declared closed, but it still is not in my opinion, and I always use SVG export to achieve fulley editable text labels....

When I export maps to pdf , I need the labels to be editable and not broken up into individual letters. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance,
