Greetings!
This is my first question for this list and I am new to qgis, so be gentle!
We are building a 20 acre (8 hectare) lake and need to design an earthen
dam and calculate the amount of fill dirt needed to build the dam.
We are starting with lidar data of the entire watershed and have created
contours, then mapped the shoreline of the lake. I would like to add a
dam to the model and then calculate the volume of the fill needed to
construct the dam.
1) What is the best general workflow for this project?
2) How can I add the dam as 3D feature? The dam is not straight, it is
arched.
3) What is the best way to calculate the fill required?
Thanks!
- Ron
