Hi list -

This is one of those "Brown paper bag over head in shame" moments...

Previously, I installed QGIS 4.0 using the network installer and have 
been experimenting with automated installs using the command-line with 
qualifiers. And obviously /not/ getting the relevant Python libraries 
installed during the operation.

After reinstalling QGIS 4.0 using the /stand-alone/ method it worked 
flawlessly with the Pandas library.

As far as I know qgis does not have adopted norms, but I believe that it
is not ok to ask humans to read, comment on, diagnose, remediate, or
otherwise engage with LLM output.

Thus, if you wish to engage with LLMs, despite their being trained on
stolen data by abusvie scraping, I would appreciate it that being a
separate activity from engaging with humans on this list.

It is a really good question how many people agree with me on this
point.  My overall impression is that many start out with "LLM use is ok
if [something]" and then move to a less and less accepting position as
they encounter it.

And, thank you for labeling LLM output as such.  I suspect most think
it's not ok to include LLM output without being clear about it.

discussion of Overture Maps and their activities (standards etc) in
relation to QGIS.

I also notice that Overture Maps' members page
https://overturemaps.org/about/members/ doesn't make any mention of QGIS or
anything that I can see that is obviously QGIS related.

I would think that Overture Maps' GERS (Global Entity Reference System),
which purports to ease data integration projects, would be of interest to
many users of QGIS; but perhaps I am wrong.

If someone would care to set me straight on this topic, I would be most
grateful.

Thanks for the pointer on this.  I tried installing the plugin on QGIS
4.0.3, but it required a previously installed the Python 3 duckdb module
(this is on Ubuntu 26.04), which is not available in the Ubuntu
repositories, nor can it easily be installed (via pip) since the python3
environment on Ubuntu 26.04 is "externally managed".  I gather conda is
another option but I think I'll give up for now on this plugin and have a
look at downloading the data directly.

This plugin has been made entirely with AI coding tools (primarily Cursor
with claude-3.5-sonnet). Contributions are very welcome, both from more
experienced python developers who can help clean up the code and add
missing features, and from anyone who wants a place to do AI-assisted
coding that (hopefully) actually gets widely used.

I'm interested in exploring open source collaboration in the age of AI
coding tools, especially working with less experienced developers who'd
like to contribute, so don't hesitate to jump in with AI-assisted pull
requests.

And any help on ideas/feedback, documentation, testing, promoting, etc. is
very welcome!

I didn't find a link to the source code in your announcement.

That raises the question of "for which platforms", as usually
"installation packages" is "for a very limited number of operating
systems, versions of those systems, and CPU types".  But perhaps this is
python, and a qgis plugin?  I was unable to understand this from your
message.

leverage to help answer your question.

How many pixels in your raster?

What format is your raster?

What steps did you follow to execute the interpolation?

Are you sure your process is not blocked by a modal screen requesting input?

How much memory / what processor / what operating system are you using?

Have you tried any other operations on the raster? Like for example
extracting a small piece and running the same interpolation on that?

It seems unlikely to me that you will receive any useful response without
at least some of that information.

I want to create a 3D Geology Model in QGIS 3:44.

I have created my lithological units in .gpkg format.

How do i interporlate them using IDW Tool so i can view them in 3D?

Thats basically what im trying to do.

This issue has come back for some users (according to feedback online). 
For example, I checked one user's account, and in fact all 
@wheregroup.com accounts were blocked - I have now manually removed that 
block, but I lost access to that mail server (when it moved) so I can't

I try to select some features vie their id(integer) based on an array containing ids (also integers) I get from another layer.

In SQL I would write SELECT * FROM base WHERE id in (SELECT DISTINCT id FROM filter_layer WHERE ...filter...)

Naturally I would write the expression in 'Select features by expression' like this but it dosen't work (no features selected):

I would assume it iterates through the ids in the base and if it's found in the array it's true and therefore selected and if it's not in there, it's false and therefore not selected.

Instead I have to  write this (but it also would't work if didn't have unique id's in the base layer because it then would only select the first found):

I simplified some things for testing and try to select in the base_layer without elements from another layer:
"id" IN (10,11,12,13) works (10 and 11 true --> selected, 12 and 13 false --> not selected)
"id" IN array(10,11,12,13) doesn't work (no Objects selected)

I find this very hard to understand and I don't know how to explain this to costumers who before used programs where they select based on sql expressions.
Also I can't figure out how to select the features if the id(in this case) isn't unique (see question above).
I chose the "select by expression" tool because I need the selection in the base_layer and not a separate layer containing the filtered features.
Could someone please explain it to me or tell me a more "natural feeling" way to select the features based on an array?
(I'm using QGIS 3.44)

Is there a reason you cannot use a.second table containing a list of all
the desired IDs and joining the two tables together?

As in

Select * from base join wanted on base.id = wanted.id

Joining two tables this way is basic idiomatic SQL.

Of course it means you have to put your list of wanted IDs in the "wanted"
table rather than in some other structure. This leads to the question "how
do you define the list of wanted IDs?" - maybe there is some reason for
wanting those IDs that can be expressed as a WHERE clause... (an attribute
value or a spatial expression or a combination thereof).

I find it kind of odd that people are walking around with lists of
interesting IDs. Usually that would mean they had found some property
shared by the objects with those IDs

No problem.  I tried to explain in my previous message, the answer to 
your question: I no longer have access to the mail server logs (I lost 
access to the mail server machine when it moved), so someone with powers 
will have to check the server logs, to find out why your addresses are 
blocked, sorry for that.  You will have to file a ticket here and 
explain the situation, and someone with higher powers than me will 
respond: https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/newticket
