Hey Brad,
It seems to me you have undocked the panel, so it is in floating mode now (maybe by clicking the left button of the two in the top right corner of the panel when docked). Just grab it by the panel name and move it to the side where you want it docked until a blue space appears. The space is the position where the panel will be docked when you release it. If you move it on top of another panel (the browser panel e.g.) they both will be in tab mode. Grab the tab (bottom) and you can move it somewhere else or grab the panel(group) name and you can move the whole tab group.
I hope this solves your problem.
Best regards,
Annie

Betreff: [Qgis-user] Layer Panel/Project Map Canvas Ratio Altered
To Whom it May Concern:
For some reason, my QGIS project display is off today. I am attaching a screen shot to this email so that perhaps someone can take a look. It looks to me like the project map canvas is too wide, but I have no idea how to make it return to its proper dimensions. As you can hopefully see, the layer panel covers up a portion of the map canvas, and that should not be the case. I was working on a project yesterday in which I needed to convert coordinate systems. I'm not sure if that has caused a problem or not, as I logged off once I finished the project yesterday and didn't log back on.
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is very distracting.
I'm going to try to attach the screenshot of my problem here.
