Hi, <br>Qgis have an option where you can generate a grid whit the "Generador de cuadricula" (my Qgis is in spanish) and then save it as a shape.<br>Go to "Complementos" >>> "Cuadrículas".<br>

you can add the north arrow by adding it as an image.<br>

If I'm not wrong one of the developers is working on adding the feature<br>
to add grids in the print composer.<br>
