faced the same problem recently, and if I understood right it is a
limitation of the Google WMS. I think the "capabilities" of the WMS
description tells you if you can print and what size (if I remember
right the parameter is called "map extend", but I am not sure .. if
this is set to 0, you can´t print anything. A possible workaround is
to make a screenshot of the Google layer and open it in the map
composer as a background photo (you can use the "save image" under
the "File" menu in QGIS), another possibility is to reduce the size
of your area to be printed, maybe you are allowed to print a smaller
part ....<br>
