Hi Sebastiano

Thanks for the suggestion. Both are great tools, but I would use
them for different kind of tasks.

What I like about manageR is that it is basically an alternative
CLI (including syntax highlighting) combined with a simple GUI
with some predefined R relevant functions and with a loose
integration of R in QGIS (easy import/export of data between the
two).

I like the Sextante plugin too, but it serves a different purpose
(for me). The R module does not seem to be a direct access to the
R command line (or at least I haven't found out how). This means
it only gives access to predefined functions or you have to create
functions yourself which can then be access through a GUI window.
This is extremely useful when working often with certain R
functions, but without the option to work directly from the
command line and direct access to all R functions (without having
to define functions first), it does not offer the same flexibility
that manageR offers.

Cheers,
I am trying to import a vector layer (shapefile)
from QGIS in R using manageR
First manageR does not find the sp package. That can
be solved by defining the library location
(library(sp,lib.loc="/home/paulo/.Rpackages/"). Not
sure though why manageR does not find the package by
default, in R or Rstudio this is no problem.
Then, when trying to import the layer (ctrl+L or the

Error in function (projargs) :
PROJ4 argument-value pairs must begin with +: NA

The vector layer is just a normal shapefile with prj
file.
Best wishes
