<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">I’m trying to build decent Canadian topo maps.<br><div><br></div><div>The Toporama WMS Server <a href="http://wms.ess-ws.nrcan.gc.ca/wms/toporama_en?">http://wms.ess-ws.nrcan.gc.ca/wms/toporama_en?</a> is quite nice, as long as you reorder the layers before importing, and remember to set the projection to something that you like. And the georeferenced scans of the paper topo maps are available (unfortunately most have their collars on still.)</div><div><br></div><div>However the vector maps are also available from Canvec, as shape files (here <a href="ftp://ftp2.cits.rncan.gc.ca/pub/bndt/">National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), Canada</a>) and supposedly as GML (somewhere else).
