<font size="2" face="sans-serif">The documentation online tells me where to find them and shows me what the various dialogue boxes ask for, but then there appears to be nothing added to my maps.</font><br>

<font size="2" face="sans-serif">Should I be seeing the decorations on my canvas or on my composer? I'm using QGIS version 2.4 on a Win7 64bit machine.</font><br>
