The first choice (formerly known as Openstreetmap <br style="" class="" clear="none">plugin) is restricted in the area, because you will be downloading <br style="" class="" clear="none">Megabytes of data, and you have to set up rendering
rules yourself.<br style="" class="" clear="none"><br style="" class="" clear="none">The second one should fit your needs better. The OpenLayers plugin had <br style="" class="" clear="none">some obstacles during the upgrade from QGIS 1.8 to 2.0 and from 2.2 to <br style="" class="" clear="none">2.4. That is the reason why old projects with Openlayers background <br style="" class="" clear="none">don't run with newer versions.
