<font size="2" face="sans-serif">I'm working with 2.8.1 on a 64bit Win 7 machine.</font><br>

<font size="2" face="sans-serif">I'm trying to Select By Location, copy the selection and paste as a new vector layer. Normally would find that functionality under the Vector menu and then under the Edit menu. Now it's not working. When I select, the points are highlighted, but when I look at the new layer, there are no points. The attribute headings are there, but no data.</font><br>

<font size="2" face="sans-serif">If I try the same steps via the Processing Toolbox all is well.</font><br>

<font size="2" face="sans-serif">Can anyone explain why this would be happening?</font><br>
