<p dir="ltr">If I understand the technical aspects correctly (marking shapes with a * rather than actually deleting them), the problem seems to be departing from the shapefile "standard". </p>
<p dir="ltr">One of QGIS's strengths should be interoperability rather than inventing one off, wierd standards to frustrate compatibility. </p>
<p dir="ltr">I don't think this is behind the failure to save problem but is concerning nonetheless . . . .</p>
