I've just tested the newest QGIS master on my normal pc running
Windows7/64bit. It works without a hitch.

So the error I reported in my last post (QGIS creating a mini-dump
on exiting) is probably connected to the setup of the virtual
Windows7/32bit on my Macbook Pro running VirtualBox. Which was my
first test-setup

Sorry about the noise.
Hi Nathan -

Just did a quick test trying to edit a tab file. It works !!! This
is huge. There is an unbelivable amount of tab files floating
around in my local "duck pond" (i.e Denmark). And QGIS is now able
to edit them :-).

On a slightly less happy note: QGIS 2.12 nightly crashes with a
minidump every time I terminate the program (But not because of
the tab editing - this part works)
With the next release the regular packages (2.14 and 2.8)
