If you have MapInfo wth discover, you can save the colour scheme for each polygon as a new column in the tab file, then use that to colourise it via the properties, styles menu in qgis.
Failing that if you have a screen grab of the map/tab file you can categorise the features in qgis by one of the other attributes then use the colour dropper tool to select each of the colours. It can be very laborious for a large and multicoloured map, but does get a very similar output.

Other than those options, I haven't seen a MapInfo colourise plugin.

Any developers out there want to knock one up?

Cheers

On Wed, 3 Aug 2016 15:18 Grant Boxer <boxerg@iinet.net.au> wrote:

Is there a way to import MapInfo tab files into QGIS that preserves the patterns and colours?

Grant Boxer

Perth, Western Australia

_______________________________________________
