I don't know why you're having trouble with the processing toolbox,
but regarding IDW interpolation, you can do it straight in the
Raster menu, <b>Raster->Analysis->Grid (interpolation)</b>.
This uses the gdal_grid utility<br>

I need to use the Inverse Distance Weighted Interpolation from
