    <p>I think this is true pretty much with any layer you bring in, you
      would find the same if you add any shapefile for example. <br>
    </p>
    <p>You can store the paths when imported into different shapefiles
      and then set a style per shapefile, or multiple styles are
      possible in one shapefile using style rules.<br>

        <p class="MsoNormal">I am a new user and am using QGIS Desktop
          version 2.18.12. I have a kml file I have created in Google
          earth containing lines of various lengths, thickness and
          colour. My problem is that when I import into QGIS (using add
          vector layer) it only imports the lines and not the thickness
          or the colour. I have used a free trial of ARCGIS to import
          this file without any problems, so I’m not sure why it would
          be an issue with this program.<o:p></o:p></p>
