<p class="MsoNormal">Is there a way to configure QGIS to not query the geometry types from each registered shape with an Oracle database when opening the layer browser?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I ask because the database I am trying to load data from has 1486 registered tables, for which about 100 are external data (csv) tables (much slower to query), and a few dozen are huge collection geometry tables. QGIS currently takes “forever”
(more than an hour – I gave up waiting) for the layer browser to query and load all the entries into the list. I really like QGIS in general, but this issue makes it unusable as it is currently.<o:p></o:p></p>
