<p>I must acknowledge my complete lack of the ESRI tools, so I am
left with the first hits I find in an internet search to guess
what it does exactly.</p>
<p>My first guess is, that "default value" configuration is what you
are looking for. There is support for QGIS expressions - which
opens up a wide variety of possibilities.</p>
