<p>Likely there’s a better way, but I’d use the Field Calculator. <br><br>1. The icon looks a bit like an abacus, and you can find it at the top of the map window and at the top of the attribute window.<br><br>2. To work only on your selected features, select the box<br><br>3. You want to update an existing field - from NULL to your value<br><br>4. Select the field that you want to work on.<br><br>5. Enter in here the value, ’string’, or expression you want in the selected fields.<br><br>This is a useful and powerful tool - but if you don’t make sure that it’s only working on the selected fields (2) it will work on all the entries in the field, and you’ll need to rollback.<br><br></p>
