1. The icon looks a bit like an abacus, and you can find it at the top of the map window and at the top of the attribute window.<br/>

2. To work only on your selected features, select the box<br/>

3. You want to update an existing field - from NULL to your value<br/>


<br/>


4. Select the field that you want to work on.<br/>


<br/>


5. Enter in here the value, ’string’, or expression you want in the selected fields.<br/>

This is a useful and powerful tool - but if you don’t make sure that it’s only working on the selected fields (2) it will work on all the entries in the field, and you’ll need to rollback.<br/>
