* The National Geographic Society's collection of more than 6,000 maps
from the past 130 years has been assembled into a digital archive, but
it is not available to the public.

* A recent study of 225 Greenlandic glaciers beginning inland and
ending in the ocean shows that none have risen while 200 have receded,
in all sectors of the island.
