[SAC] OpenID usability

Hi,

What's the state of OpenID support for OSGeo users?
I've tried instructions on the Wiki page [1] but without success
Also, what does this mean "Your OSGeo userid can be used as an openid." 
in practice? Is OSGeo userid supposed to work as OpenID service like 
myopenid.com and others?
