No, I've already had three or four different types of RAID6 controllers
(Adaptec, Dell's OEM and the such) but I somehow felt disappointed by
all of them. Either response times for random I/O and/or overall
bandwidth didn't meet my expectations.
According to my feeling/experience I'd rather go for a RAID5 with a
second (or even a third, if space permits) hot-spare. Maybe someone
else was having good RAID6 experience, maybe using an Arcea controller
(unfortunately I never had an Arcea), I'd be delighted to know.
