#718: Logrotate not configured correctly
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------

     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: major | Milestone:
Component: Systems Admin | Keywords: logs logrotate awstats
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
Possibly a relic of old configurations most but not all vhosts on the
projects vm (and likely all our other machines) use _log for their apache
 log file name.

The problem is that in Debian based distros Logrotate is only configured
to look for *.log. So we now have multi GB log files filling our machines
that have not been rotated and compressed.

On Projects I temporarily add *_log and have started a forced rotate
 (using nice -n 19).

I would like feedback on if we should just add that configuration to all
the machines or if we should clean out _log and replace with .log in the
vhost files (and rename the existings logs).

I'm not going to touch the awstats ticket until we resolve this.
