 Thanks, I'm in.
 I see there's no PostGIS directory actually, only a geos one.

 Sudo would be nice, but creating  "geos" group for the
 /osgeo/download/geos (775) and getting me and paul on it would be a good
 start already. I'm surprised, being a debian system, that I'm not getting
 my own group, for safely setting umask to 0002.
