Alex, SAC,

It seems that it's not the first time that there is confusion about how
to handle domain renewals. The best solution for the future may be to
share responsibility for domain renewals between SAC and the treasurer.

At the moment I do not get the renewal notices, so if treasurer at osgeo
could be added to the dnscontact at osgeo email alias then I would
receive them, and could coordinate with SAC to proceed with paying for
the renewal when we get a notice.

Let's also keep in mind that future treasurers may not be as comfortable
as I am with managing domains, that's why I think it is important that
SAC remains involved in the renewals and we do not make that the sole
responsibility of the treasurer.

What do you think?

Daniel

P.S. I am subscribed to the SAC list but the mails go to a folder that I
am not always on top of, so if anyting happening on the list needs my
attention please do not hesitate to ping me directly.
